Dell Vostro 1000 ATi Radeon 1150 video card problem?

Hello, my name is Julius and I have recently bought a Dell Vostro 1000 laptop with an ATi Radeon Xpress 1150 video card of 512 mb of Video with hyper memory capable of 831 mb of video in total, but I can not use more than 128 mb of video, although my Vista Basic also states, that I have 831 mb. to use.

P.S.

There are no settings for the video card neither in the Catalysis Control center, nor bios, but I need to change the modes really bad, PLEASE HELP.

Sincerely yours,

Julius.|||Get rid of Vista. It's too glitchy. XP works better right now.

Intermittant video card problem.?

I am having an intermittant problem with my computer video card. Sometimes when I power up the system, the video card causes the monitor to turn completely off (not just power savings mode). The monitor cannot be turned back on unless the computer is turned off and then back on. Just cycling power on the monitor doesn't do it. I don't have any other video symptoms. I don't see anything in the VGA pinout for controlling the monitor power so I'm guessing that I just need to replace the video card. Any other ideas?|||im guessing its not yuor GPU , it cant turn yuor monitor off

How do i fix my video card problem?

i just got rise of nations and it installed fine. but after intro video it says graphics failed to initialize. i have a 256MB card ati radeon x1270. i hace vista. its on 16 bit resolution.|||go to the computer store

Would insufficient power supply cause video card problems?

I was wondering if insufficient power supply requirements to power a video card would cause it to stop working properly, I had just purchased a BFG Geforce 8500GT 1GB DDR2 PCI-E card to just replace my integrated graphics(intel gma 950) the cards minimum requirements were a 300W PSU mine says "the power supply won't exceed 250w at an ambient temp of 50C" something like that. The worked for about two days and then I went to turn on my computer and at POST the system beeps(1 beep, 2 beeps; I have researched this error I think means to re-seat the card or use a different card) without a display on the monitor. The video card cant be completely dead because the video card's fan is still spinning inside when the computer is on. So I was wondering if a new power supply that exceeds the minimum requirements would fix this problem or do I need to buy

a new video card as well.

Yes a new power supply unit of at lease 550watts is what you need as you have said yourself the current psu won't exceed 250w and the card itself needs 300w so you could well expect problems!!

I would start with a new psu and just hope that the card has not been damaged.

Video card problems 9600 gt pny verto pc wont turn on. is there any fix or solution?

i have a pny verto 9600 gt and when ever i plug it in my computer wont even boot it just powers up then down i have a 650 watt power supply it use to work but now it wont and if anyone has this card i was wondering if you could upload a close up of the back of the video card for references to mine im thinking maybe the solder came loose on a part of the circuit Bord|||Have you tried removing the card and connecting to your on board graphics to make sure the problem is with the card?

Edit

I've never owned a PNY card, so I don't know what kind of warranty they have, but if it's still under warranty you might want to contact them to see if you have any options. If it's out of warranty or the damage isn't covered, take it to a computer repair shop and ask them if it can be repaired. Other than that, if it can't be repaired.......

I am having video card problems for Spore-- please help!?

OK

so I installed Spore onto my Windows 7 computer yesterday. My video card is:

Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset

I don't know how to tell how many bits my computer has because it should say x86 or something in front of the video card but it doesnt.

My dilemma for Spore is the graphics for other creatures. I got past the cell stage and now in creature stage every other breed is green with blue details except for me. Its really drab and I don't know how to fix it. How do I update my video card to one that will work?

TIA|||right click on my computer and click on properties, it will tell you if you have 32 bit or 64 bit windows.

Video Card Problems?

My hard drive got all of it's data deleted so i don't have all of my video drivers. I know my video card can support the games i was running because they worked before the data got deleted and the only thing of could think was the drivers. The biggest problem is that i don't know what my video card is. How can i check to find out what it is.|||Method 1

Right-click on desktop. Goto Settings tab. It should say 'xxx on default monitor' or some variation of that.

Method 2

Right click "My Computer" and choose "Properties", click on the "Hardware tab" then the "Device Manager" button. Click the + sign by "display adapter" and it should list your video card.|||Go to device manager and it should display the information about your video card. Most PC's will either use Nvidia or ATI.|||u could go to device manager but if the drivers got deleted it wont say much lol open ur pc up there should be a via or ati chip see what it says but if u go to device manager and it tells u copy it and go to driverguide.com and make a account its free and go from there and ull get ur drivers back i hope or go to start all programs and update and see if theres any driver updated for ur video card hope this helps u
