Video card problems on custom build?

I have a 9800 GT from nvidia. The fan on the card works, but the card does not output any video to the monitor. I have tried 2 old crt monitors through a vga - dvi converter and no luck. Any reasons the card would have fans spinning but no video ?|||Did you check the power cable and the cable on the motherboard slot. And make sure that your VGA Graphic Card Drive is installed properly.

have you put vga cable behind the card ?or on the motherboard slot.

(if i m wrong others pls correct me)
