Minecraft Video card problem?

When i want to play Minecraft it says i have a bad video card. When i try updating it, my computer says its as best as it can be. Is there a way I can play without buying a new one?|||This is a common problem I believe. Many have solved it by changing Hardware Acceleration to a lower setting.
