Is video card problem can cause a PC hang up?

My monitor goes black every time I start my PC.But when i hit the monitor with my palm (it means i hit it hard) it goes back again but not in true color.its appear more white...|||Er, if you fix it by smacking the monitor then I really doubt its a graphics card problem.



Try a new or different monitor.|||Sounds more like the monitor is bad - I assume you have checked all the connections on the back of the monitor as well on the back of the computer.
