OK first off my computer has on-board graphics and I bought a new video card. OK when I plug it into a PCI with the computer turned off, I turn it on and my screen is black and nothing comes up so switched the big blue cable and put it on the video card and still nothing happens so I take out the card and use normal video and I disable it in the device manager in Windows XP SP2. So with On-board turned off I put the card back in and turn on the computer and its still black. Now I try a different PCI slot and this time it comes on but after I log in the screen goes black. I tried installing the drivers without the card in and it wont let me. I've tried just about everything and I cant get my card to make any picture to come up at all. Please help 10 POINTS FOR BEST ANSWER|||dude, stop... I told you what to do, and you're making things worse.
Listen.. Leave the PCI card in the computer. if you get to the log in screen, then one card is working.
When you load to windows, wait. And switch the blue monitor cable WHILE IT IS ON. Dont shut it off. Just plug the cable in the PCI card. No display? Ok, put it in the onboard. One should work. Then install the drivers for the pci card.
You might be able to enable the onboard in safe mode if u have a real issue. or uninstall onboard, when u turn on your machine, it will reckognize new hardware and install it again. Thats why u should only disable it when you do get the PCI card to work.
U should have installed the PCI drivers BEFORE YOU DISABLE THE ONBOARD. I posted on your last question what to do. You didn't listen. So now u suffer.
Good luck man, it should display one of the 2. stop rebooting. What PCI slot doesnt matter. So stop moving the card around before u break it too, if you already didn't.
