Video card problem need help?

In regards to a video/graphics card problem.. The card worked yesterday but will not show a signal to the monitor today. I heard from someone to go into my bios and disable my integrated graphics card, then go into safe mode and it should automatically boot up with my new video card. but if my video card doesnt project anything wouldnt i be screwing myself? id have nothing to fall back on, both cards would be inoperable and i wouldnt be able to turn on my integrated again because i had turned it off. So if anyone has a way to turn on the integrated if the video card truly doesnt work, please let me know|||I don't think you can go back if you do that, and btw, did you install the Graphics Card Drivers ?
