Video card problem - No display from video card?

My external video card on my custom desktop(Asus A7V400 MX Motherboard) is not displaying anything on my monitor (Connection Via VGA Connector). I plugged the monitor to a laptop and it works fine. Recently i replaced the video card (AGP 8x card 512 MB) which had popped capacitors with a used card i bought from the local computer shop (AGP 4x) thinking this would solve the issue. the computer worked fine for a week or so and now again i am getting no display. the desktop turns on without any problems and all the fans run perfectly. I dont use the desktop for anything else other than going online and using basic programs like MS office. I am running out of ideas. PLEASe help! any input would be greatly appreciated.|||The problem is nothing but the video card. Replace it with a new one.|||Thank you for your help.
