i just installed a new video card- nvidia geforce fx 5700 ultra 128MB AGP, videocard and monitor have been tested and all work fine.

as soon as the windows xp logo is gone the monitor turns of by itself. its says'in power safe mode"

nvidia drivers are already installed on the pc

my pc-

p4 2.8 GHZ HT

512MB RAM

geforce fx 5700 ultra 128MB

DYNEX 400 WATT power supply(just bought it, upgraded from a 250 watt)

what could be the problem,|||Going to 'power safe' is a means to prevent failure of the card.

It would appear that there is a power problem somewhere.

Most likely either in the BIOS settings or the power supply, since you say the video card and monitor have been checked already.|||You probably need to disable the on board video. This is done through the device manager. You will see two listed, click disable in all profiles on the factory one. You shouldn't have to mess with any bios settings, this is normally enough to tell the motherboard to use the add-on card. When I installed my card, I would get the boot up screen, then it would go black, and I had to go back to the onboard video slot to see a picture. Nvidia's instructions are a bit vague, so I called them, and was told to go to device manager as I described. That fixed it right away!|||Try to physically change NIC to another PCI slot so it will get another IRQ assigned.|||Did you flash your cmos before installing the device?

Does your motherboard support this video card?

Is the voltage of the card supported as well?

I need to know these things to be able to help you. Good luck :)
