Video card problems on custom build?

I have a 9800 GT from nvidia. The fan on the card works, but the card does not output any video to the monitor. I have tried 2 old crt monitors through a vga - dvi converter and no luck. Any reasons the card would have fans spinning but no video ? The video works on the motherboard on board graphics but is not going through vga - dvi adapter.|||It may not be seated correctly in the PCI-E socket. I'm assuming the card has separate power cables which would turn the fan on. If you have another PCI-E socket, try putting it in there.|||Did you connect the video card's power cables? The 9800 GT requires a separate power connection.

Also, if you want the 9800 GT to be the primary display, you need to adjust the BIOS settings. Otherwise, the onboard video will still be primary and you won't get any display on the 9800 GT until you configure the operating system to use it.
