Video card problems please help?

Hi, the other day I swapped out my 256mb geforce 8500gt for a 512mb geforce 8600 gt. I downloaded and installed the most recent drivers from nvidias website. the problem is that when i play games, sometimes the screen flashes black, the game becomes super choppy and then my pc just completely freezes. A few times i was able to see a little error message in the system tray (a small yellow triangle with a ! in the middle) saying something about a video device failed or something. Is there anything i should do?? please help!||| Hi, You might have to update your motherboard and chip set. Email or call the company that makes your computer and they will send you a link to update motherboard and chip set.|||you may still have the old drivers installed, i would consider it a device driver conflict. uninstall everything, including drivers which you can find by going into control panel, double click system, go to hardware, find your video card, you can first try telling it to see if there is a problem, all of this is under properties under your graphics card. if not uninstall everything and try again. you can email me anytime and ill answer your questions|||hi, this can sometimes happen when you install the latest drivers it might be a good idea to uninstall the new drivers and re-install the old drivers. before you do this, make sure your new card is slotted tightly and secure in its slot, a loosely fitted card can cause problems, also make sure the cable from the card to your monitor is also secure--cheers--|||install the drivers with the disk you where provided with the graphics card. hope this helps
